Volunteer Spotlight - Kellie Page

Today we shine the spotlight on Kellie Page!

Kellie has been a volunteer with MarineParents since March 2019. Kellie is currently the Assistant Coach for Parris Island, Group Leader MarineParents Group, Assistant Group Leader 2nd Battalion Golf Parris Island, and a moderator for our All Stages Chat Night.

Why did you decide to volunteer with MarineParents?

"I wanted to do something that my son was involved in. I had been a Girl Scout leader for 17 years with my daughter and a band mom for both kids but when my son left for boot camp this was just a natural way that I could still "be" with him and show support for his choice."

What do you find most rewarding about volunteering with MarineParents?

"I loved being on the company pages and supporting all of the incoming families but my heart is in training and coaching. I have recently moved into the role of Assistant Coach and I love it!! I get to work with all of the other volunteers in RTBN PI, plus all of the incoming potential Volunteers in Training and many others in the MP family."

What would you say to someone who is interested in volunteering?

"I would encourage anyone who is thinking of volunteering with us to go ahead and give it a go! The satisfaction of helping new families walking the same journey that they themselves might have been on recently is so rewarding. While to start might be daunting, remember we are all here to help each other out and answer any questions that they might have."

With over 1228 volunteer hours since March 2019, we thank Kellie for her dedication to the members of the MarineParents groups! OOH-RAH!!
