Jamie is a dedicated 8th grade math teacher who lives in Silverdale, Washington with her husband. They’ve raised two remarkable children: a daughter who is happily married to a Navy man and pursuing a degree in science education and a son who graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) San Diego in August 2024. Her son, a newly minted Marine, is thriving in his journey, embracing the challenges of his new role with enthusiasm and determination. As a mother, Jamie couldn’t be more proud of her children, watching them pursue their dreams and serve their country and community with pride and passion. Together, the family shares a strong bond grounded in love, support, and a shared commitment to service and education.
Jamie joined the MarineParents.com community as soon as she found out her son was enlisting in the Marines. Having grown up in a military town, she was familiar with the lifestyle but had little knowledge of the specific process of transitioning from civilian to Marine. Determined to learn as much as she could as quickly as possible, she turned to the support and guidance of the MarineParents groups. The process was sometimes overwhelming, with so many moving parts, but she was incredibly grateful for the volunteers who helped her navigate this new chapter. Now, Jamie is committed to paying it forward by volunteering, wanting to be there for other parents just as she was supported. She truly loves being a part of this community and is passionate about supporting it in any way she can.
