Venessa is a mother of four adult children, is married, is from South Texas, and she and her husband travel with their two German Shepherds. Her three older kids live in Texas, and her youngest is in Missouri. Venessa and her husband are very proud of all their children who have pursued their careers and education. Venessa and her husband officially became Marine Parents because of their youngest child – Cris. Their son’s decision to become one of the few, the proud, the Marines truly inspires Venessa. Their family admires Cris’s determination and strength to achieve such a great honor, bringing the entire family so much pride and joy.
Venessa’s Marine is the one who inspired her to reach out and become a volunteer with MarineParents.com. Like many new Marine Moms before her, Venessa experienced a rollercoaster of emotions when her son told her he had enlisted in the Marines. As her son’s ship date drew closer, Venessa remembers researching boot camp, San Diego, and his MOS. In fact, Venessa first learned about MarineParents.com on the day of her son’s ship date (thanks to a fellow new Marine mom) and immediately joined our Facebook group. Ever since, Venessa gained valuable information and support from MarineParents.com and was comforted knowing she was not alone. The support she received from MarineParents.com is another reason she became a volunteer. As a volunteer, Venessa pledges to provide that same valuable information and comforting support that so many soon-to-be Marine Moms will be searching for.
