Michele grew up on the shores of Lake Erie and now lives in Arlington, Virginia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts and a master’s degree in English. She and her husband, a retired Air Force JAG, have been married for 26 years and have two children. They are beyond proud that their son decided to continue the family tradition of military service in the Marine Corps after graduating from Dickinson College with a degree in Political Science and Russian. He trained at Paris Island and is currently having a blast at infantry battalion training. They look forward to celebrating their daughter’s graduation from the College of Wooster. Michele is also a crazy dog mom who loves training her Puli puppy. She can’t wait until he is old enough to compete in agility trials. As a self-described “recovering swim mom,” Michele teaches community swimming lessons with Arlington Public Schools. She is passionate about water safety and drowning prevention in addition to instilling a love of the water in her students. In her free time, Michele reads, crochets, does word puzzles, and plays golf.

When her son joined the Marine Corps, Michele found valuable information and support through MarineParents.com. She loves connecting with other family members of Marines through her MarineParents.com volunteer work. A teacher at heart, she enjoys answering member questions and offering support to families on their journey as someone who understands what life is like when someone you love serves in the military.
