Sharon is a very proud Marine mom who's son graduated MCRD Parris Island in June 2020. She is from Summit, NY, and is the mother of 5. Sharon was a Teaching Assistant in the Special Education Department of the local High School for 16 years, retiring in August 2018.
Sharon was directed to MarineParents.com by a friend soon after her son entered Boot Camp. She enjoyed learning about the Corps. Her son was injured during training and spent 5 months in the Medical Rehabilitation Platoon. During those 5 months, Sharon was amazed at the support and encouragement she was given and when she saw a call for volunteers she was anxious to pay the kindness forward.
