Laurie Flenniken

Laurie and her husband Brian live in a small town in central Texas. Laurie is an Adoption Specialist helping connect adoptive families with waiting children, and Brian is a band director at a local school district. In her free time, Laurie enjoys crochet and watching the hummingbirds. Their blended family includes six children, one grandson, and three dogs. All but one of their children has graduated from high school and moved out. Their Marine graduated from Echo company at MCRD in 2022 and is stationed in San Diego with his wife. Their recruit is currently attending boot camp in Alpha Company at MCRD and is scheduled to graduate in August 2025 as a proud Marine.

Laurie found Marine Parents during their first Marine’s time in boot camp and found it very helpful and a great resource and support. She joined Marine Parents as a volunteer because, as a mother going through boot camp again, she wanted to be able to be a support to other parents in the same situation.
