Carolyn Simmons is a proud mother of four and resides on Long Island with her husband, youngest daughter, oldest son, and her Marine’s best friend. Her oldest daughter recently bought a home in Syracuse, N.Y. Her youngest son graduated from Parris Island in April 2024 to become a US Marine and is currently at his PDS. She comes from a long line of military service members, with her father and uncle both serving in the US Navy during Vietnam, her brother serving in Desert Storm, her cousin being a Marine veteran, and her nephew serving in the US Coast Guard.
When her youngest son enlisted in the Marines, she felt immense pride, fear, and many other mixed emotions. She was left with many unanswered questions and was unsure of where to find the answers. She finds solace in volunteering for MarineParents.com to help other parents find the answers to some of the very questions she had during the ups and downs of having a loved one proudly serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
