VITPP MoMs group in training ph2
Marine Parent and Volunteer
Amy is a Platoon Parent Volunteer in training for the MoMs Group.
Amy is a Mom of three biological children and three stepchildren. Amy has been a Physical Therapist Assistant for 24 years and has primarily been in management and treated in the geriatric population. Her oldest son is her Marine and enlisted in the DEP his Junior year of high school, leaving for boot camp one week after high school graduation in 2016. In June of 2017, her Marine married his high school sweetheart of four years and she joined him in his journey. Amy has five active children at home; however, with her children getting older, has a little more free time and decided to join MarineParents as a volunteer.
Amy decided it was time to enlist as a MoM to help other MoMs adjust to the new lifestyle of parenting from the sidelines and embracing her Marine’s new journey instead of focusing on him leaving home and the void that left in her life as they were extremely close. Her goal is to lend support and guidance to new and/or seasoned MoMs along their journey with their Marines.
