Group Leader Hotel Company (Parris Island)

Marine Parent and Volunteer

Recruit Parents Facebook Groups Volunteer,

Angie is a proud Marine mom and stepmom from Florida who served as Platoon Parent for Hotel Co., Parris Island. She provided inspiration, encouragement, and support for parents who are on this journey of becoming a military family. She is now Group Leader with Hotel Company, Parris Island group.

The daughter of a Navy officer, she moved around and saw a little of the world before her family settled in Florida after the last tour of duty. She now considers herself a native Floridian, since she's lived in several cities across the state. She has been an elementary teacher for the last 17 years. She and her husband, David, have 7 children between them, all young adults, 2 of which are Marines. When her son graduated last November, her stepson decided that he too, would join the Marine Corps. (He's currently in Hotel Co.), and her oldest son will soon join the Air Force. They also have 1 crazy dog, 1 lazy dog, and 1 demanding fat cat, appropriately named Garfield.

When her son joined the Marines, after a long break from Military life she found the information, encouragement and most of all friendships that were formed along the way to be very encouraging to her own experience of becoming a MoM. Now she wants to bring some of that same spirit to the parents of Hotel Co. as they navigate this exciting new journey. Have fun!
