Group Guide Fox Company (San Diego)
Marine Parent and Volunteer
Recruit Parents Facebook Groups Volunteer,
Total Volunteer Hours 1st & 2nd Quarter of 2018: 183.04! Bridgette is excited to be a volunteer Group Guide for Fox Company, San Diego, to be able to help others. Her goal is to help guide other parents and family members learn about what their recruits are going through during the 13 weeks of boot camp by giving them the information and support they need.
Bridgette has been married for 20 years and she and her husband are from Minnesota having two children, a son and a daughter. Her son is a Marine and is at his PDS. He decided to become a Marine when he was just a little kid.. He never gave it a second thought. He made up his mind he wanted to follow in his Grandpas footsteps. It was no surprise to her or her husband. He enlisted in the early entrance program (DEP), when he was 17 and stuck with it until he went off to boot camp a year and a half later after he graduated high school. She can't be more proud of him to follow in her dad's footsteps.
Volunteering is something Bridgette enjoys doing. She has enjoyed being part of the Marine Parents Facebook page, with the information and support of other families. It is hard having your recruit far away from home and not knowing what they are doing, what they're going through with little information and understanding is and can be overwhelming until she found this group. They are going through boot camp and not knowing what to expect is a great opportunity for her to give back to the next group of parents and it be able to help them is a great feeling. Marine Parents has been her go to to help keep her inspired.
