Amy Rosno

Group Leader Kilo Company (San Diego)

Marine Parent and Volunteer

Recruit Parents Facebook Groups Volunteer,

Total Volunteer Hours 1st & 2nd Quarter of 2018: 86.62! Amy started volunteering with Marine Parents in May 2017; the same day her son left for SOI. As a volunteer with Kilo Company, San Diego, she hopes to guide, educate, and comfort families as their sons transition from recruits to Marines.

Amy lives in Wisconsin with her husband, Dave, who was a member of the Nebraska Army National Guard for eight years. They have two adult children and are empty nesters. Their youngest, now a Marine, has always had an interest in joining the military and is accomplished collector of military helmets. Amy has been a high school English teacher for the past 21 years, and for the past 12 years, she has been teaching in a virtual school. In her spare time, she enjoys researching her family tree, working in the garden, and spending time with her two Rat Terriers, Atticus and Scout. Inspired by the great volunteers who guided Amy and her family through the stages of Poolee, Recruit, and eventually a Marine, Amy wanted to have the opportunity to give back and mentor new parents.
