One of the tenets of the Marine Parents mission statement is to, "create opportunities for the public to support our troops through the organization's outreach programs," and this would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our Outreach Service volunteers across the country. While our Outreach Service volunteers may show their support in different ways, their goal is the same — support Marines and their family members in any way possible — and it's truly inspirational to see people from all walks of life come together to achieve that goal.
Over the past year, volunteers for the Care Package Project™ have packed and shipped approximately 2,000 care packages to deployed Marines, ensuring that these Marines know Americans appreciate their courage and sacrifice. Members of the Warrior Support Team™ have provided resources, support, and fellowship to recovering warriors at military medical centers on both coasts, as well as serving thousands of hot meals to those warriors. Members of Team Marine Parents™ have raised thousands of dollars for our organization through athletic endeavors. Members of Operation Prayers and Letters™ have sent thousands of hand-written cards and letters to severely wounded Marines who are either facing or in the midst of long-term recovery processes. And volunteers for Gold Star Family Support and the Luminary Initiative have kept alive the memories of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country.
We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank our amazing Outreach Service volunteers. Your dedication is inspiring and congratulations on a job well done!
