Thoughts From Marine Families For Our Volunteers
Marine Parents is grateful for the time, energy, skill, dedication and Esprit de Corps offered by so many generous and hard-working volunteers.
Though the volunteers of Marine Parents do not commit their time and energy with the expectation of receiving awards, recognition and thank you notes, celebration of their volunteer work is deserved.
Please take a moment to write a note of thanks to our volunteers. If you have a personal experience to share, please tell the volunteers how their service impacted your life.
Not all information collected below will be published online; see notes below for details about what will and will not be published online.
Below are the thank you messages that have been shared. The most recent messages are at the top of the page.

Thanks so much, if not for you, I'm not sure I would have
survived the five years my son was active in the Marines. He
is still a Reserve, and once a Marine, always a Marine. I
guess once a Marine Mom, always a Marine Mom. I have the most
wonderful friends here, and for that I thank you!!! Blessings

Heartfelt THANK YOU to Larry73, a Marine, who provided me with
so many answers to my unending questions. Larry also shared
the most valuable piece of information, and that was the poem
he wrote,The Night Before The Crucible. With his permission,
I copied it and sent it to my son, who carried it proudly
during his own Crucible, 18-20 Nov. I will never forget that
Larry. A HUGE heartfelt THANKYOU for your devotion to your

This message goes out to the very resourceful,
compassionate, loving and dedicated volunteer 1~nanny. I
have had the pleasure of getting to know her because she is
the volunteer mediator for my son's troop at Parris Island.
Not only has she informed me of the activities that our
recruits are going through, but she has shared some very
personal experiences that have greatly impacted her life.
In getting to know her through this website, I am so
grateful for her dedication and commitment to providing all
the recruit parents with the info they need to know to keep
them informed and up to date. I am so grateful for the time
and effort she puts into letting new recruit parents know
what is happening in their sons/daughters boot camp
experience. The Marine Corps should be extremely proud to
have such a compassionate, loving volunteer to guide new
recruit parents through the boot camp experience!!

I want to thank the volunteers who helped those of us whose
sons were going through boot camp. Their messages keeping us
updated on what our sons were going through were so helpful
and comforting to me because I am not from a military family
and this is my first experience with my son being away from
home. The volunteers were compassionate and caring and I
didn't express it then, but I couldn't have made it through
boot camp without them!

I started using MFN last June when my son went off to boot.
I can't even imagine how much support and information that I
would have missed if it wasn't for all of our volunteers -
not to mention all the friends I would not have had the
pleasure of getting to know. I want to especially thank
Pam, who started with us and encouraged us to be a family.
Also, Kristine, Sandy, and Maria for taking us through
graduation! My gratefulness continues for, Keri, Barb,
Denita, Dianne, and LazyK-Chyn. :) I can't even tell you
all how much I appreciate your time, patience, and love.

Want to send a HUGE thank you for the volunteer moderators
on MFN (especially the bootcamp moderators). I was a
bootcamp board moderator at the time when MFN switched from
the old boards to the MFN boards, so I can relate how much
time & dedication it takes to moderate. I wanted to help
others like I was helped (on the old boards). You ladies
are awesome and I have kept in touch with Nanny, Maria, &
Donna. Beautiful people inside and out! They continue to
touch lives and help other parents get through the rough
ride of boot camp. What they do is incredible! Thank you
for everything and the lasting friendships!!

We will be eternally grateful to MFN and Momma Hen,
(moderator of Fox Company, graduation date: 03/07/2014), for
being there for us during our son's Marine Corps boot camp
experience and graduation. The leadership and inspiration of
Momma Hen has made a positive and profound impression on
myself and my family. I honestly believe we would have been
lost without her. Momma Hen's unselfish dedication, constant
support and encouragement was unwavering and cherished.
We look forward in continuing our journey with our Marine.
We will continue to support and appreciate the information

We are so greateful for all your hard work, time and efforts
to serve our troops. Being a military family, the impact and
time poured into the troops is so appreciated and goes a long
way not to support only the military member himself, but in
them being supported we feel blessed and supported and
grateful for whatever is shown towards them.

Donna (1~Donna from WI) is a wonderful Boot Camp Moderator who has helped me and so many other Moms and family members on this MFN site. She is here for us at all hours of the day, if she doesn't have an answer she researches and finds an answer. Donna has a huge heart. She is there for all and it would seem that we can call on her at any hour and she hears us! In 10 years of service, Marine Parents has accomplished some ultra-
impressive numbers: over 35,000 care packages sent, over 27,000 meals
served to injured troops and their families, over 1200 support requests
processed EACH WEEK - just to name a few.
To all Marine Parents volunteers, these numbers are evidence of the
difference your self-less dedication of time, energy, and heart makes in the
lives of our troops and their families.
Thank YOU and keep up the amazing work. Semper Fi.

Our volunteers are absolutely the backbone of this
organization. Many organizations use that sentence as a catch
phrase, but here at Marine Parents, it's our bottom line.
Everything related to supporting the troops and their families
at home is done by dedicated and selfless volunteers. And
we've got the best volunteers in the country, hands down!
Thank you all for your service to our Marines, military
personnel, and the families at home. God Bless and Semper Fi!
