Summer is in full swing and so are the folks at Marine Parents! We shipped over 1000 care packages to our deployed Marines this past weekend and welcomed over 3000 new members since the last newsletter.

Creative Cakery will send birthday cakes, Marine Corps cakes, and any other celebration cake you can think of to the troops in Iraq.
The cakes are beautiful, they taste great, and they are packaged to withstand the roughest mail handlers. I was the lucky recipient of a Creative Cakery creation about two weeks ago. My post office did a great job of handling it, but as I was getting in the car, I dropped the box. When I got back to the office, I opened it up, and to my surprise it was totally intact! The packaging is built to withstand overseas shipping!
The best part was the taste test. Our cake was portioned into four different flavors. It was moist and delicious and we enjoyed each of the flavors.

MotoMail is a service that is brought to you and endorsed by the Marine Corps which allows electronically transmitted letters to be printed in Iraq and delivered to the recipient often in as little as 48 hours. Transit time via US Mail is eliminated, allowing a much quicker delivery to our Marines in Iraq.

 Communicating with your Marine, with the USMC, and other families during Combat Deployments
Communicating with your Marine and receving communications from your Marine is a major concern for families of combat deployed Marines. We offer three topics to help you understand what you can expect for communication from your Marine and ways you can communicate with your Marine.
Phone calls, letters, calling cards, and Motomail.us are all methods of communication you'll want to learn about. We suggest two kinds of calling cards and encourage you to use MotoMail as one source of "electronic letter writing" to get to your Marine in 24-48 hours.
We'll help you understand if/when you should communicate with the Marine Corps and define the KV Network and Family Readiness Officer (FRO).

Locate Your Marine's Unit Information
 Every Marine is assigned to a unit or battalion in the Marine Corps. Often, finding information about that particular unit can be challenging. Our database includes virtually every unit in the Marine Corps and includes base locations, current station, phone numbers, the unit FRO (Family Readiness Officer, a contact for family members), and links to the unit's message boards and chat night schedule.
